Kostek Transport of Canada
Based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba
A sleeper-cab gas-pot International with a 32 ft. bunker-blower van driven by Peter Loewen running produce from Florida to St. Catherine's Ont. in 1951. Peter later drove for Norton Motor Lines out of Stony Creek, Ont (See Robert Loewen Truck Pics) Dayton Currie's bubble-nose Freightliner, about 40 miles east of Longlac, Ontario on #11. I still can't figure out how that trailer got loose 650 miles east of Winnipeg.
Cliff Parisian's Hayes going by southbound on south of Gaylord, Michigan on #27. Here's Dayton jacking the trailer up. Fortunately it was an empty. Note the OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) officer pitching in to help. Paul Maurischat with his H-67 Mack. Ernie Hutsel drove for Paul for a while after which Paul went on his own running a reefer south out of TO (Toronto)."
