| 1947 Mack LT owned by Neil Kauppila of Holden,Maine...it has a Hall-Scott, and a 5 and 3. This truck was originally owned by the John Moen family of the Portland, Oregon area. |
Bob Hays' grandfather,Ernie Jovich of Oroville,CA. Ernie is standing on the battery box of his new LTL Mack.Judging from the Cummins fireball emblem and the right side aircleaner, it probably had a supercharged 275 under the hood.Bob Hays tells me his grandfather bought two LTL's which were about $18000.00 each new...a huge amount to fork out in the early fifties! |
This picture shows Ernie again outside of Labrucherie Diamond T, The Diamond T and Trailmobile dealer in Stockton, CA ..looking pretty happy with himself in front of his new 950 ? Diamond T. Bob's father, Bud Hays, is on the left, Ernie is center and the salesman is on the right. |

This truck is actually an "Arrow"..these trucks were made by Arrow Tank Lines utilizing Kenworth cabs and Freightliner radiators, the front fenders where their own design. Arrow also made their own suspension according to a fellow I talked to.
Thanks to Pat MacPhail for sending this great looking restored truck. That is a great comparison photo to go along with the Arrow tanker picture. |
 |
This picture was taken by Ritzville, WA in the 1940's by my Dad. Hank Suderman Collection. The truck belongs to Arrow Tank Lines of Portland, OR. This is mostly Kenworth. The front end it early 30s KW and Cab is later 30 early 40s.
Thanks to Ken Goudy for telling me the make of the truck. It's been bugging me for decades. |
