Vintage Autocar oilfield unit with Texas Bed - Owner/Operator: Bert Baxter Transport of Estevan, Saskatchewan. Unique Tri-Drive Pacific - Owner/Operator: Sam's General Trucking out of Consort, Alberta.
Hayes Clipper COE tractors operated by Gossett & Sons Transport Ltd. (GS&T). GS&T operated out of Calgary, Alberta on the east run to central Canada. GS&T was founded by Fred Gossett in 1950 and later sold out their eastern operation to Kingsway Transport. Another Hayes Clipper COE. This one in Kingsway livery.
Yet another Hayes Clipper COE. This smart looking Clipper was owned and operated by Andy Volk out of Medicine Hat, Alberta and leased on with Kingsway. Eric Andrews has this drom equipped Canadian Kenworth on with Martel Express out of Trois-Rivières: (Three Rivers) Quebec. The unit was on permanent lease to United Van Lines (Canada) Ltd. This unit was the first drom equipped truck to operate across Canada and among the first tandem axle tractors used in the household goods segment of the trucking industry. Eric had a number of units on with United Van Lines. Originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Erik had moved to the west coast at the time of this photo. Eric's success with this unit made the use of drom boxes very popular in the moving and storage segment of the industry, especially at United Van Lines, which was primarily owner/operator oriented at the time. Recently the drom has fallen out of favor, however, what with the use of 53 ft trailers and conventional tractors.

1/34th scale First Gear Kenworth Bullnose done up in M&P Transport livery. M&P was based in Edmonton, Alberta and operated between Alberta and Ontario, and eventually Montreal, Quebec. M&P later bought out PMP Express to provide service to the west coast. At one point, M&P was apparently Canada's largest western-based general freight carrier. 1/25th scale A.I.M. Another shot of my Pacific oil field rig. This time with a trailer and load. The unit is in JO-ANN Trucking livery, the load is a drilling rig power plant shack in Cactus Drilling Press. 1961 White Freightliner single axle with Fruehauf 45' tandem trailer. This is a Portland built unit. The unit was leased to Rember Van & Storage/United Van Lines (Canada) Ltd. Owned by Eric Andrews and driven by ol' Nertz at the time this photo was taken at the Woodland Motel in Cooksville, Ontario in the late sixties. B-61 Mack owned/operated by Stan Jackson out of Calgary, Alberta. At the time of this photo, taken in Toronto, Ontario circa 1966, Stan was leased on with Bird Transfer/United Van Lines. The trailer is a 45' Fruehauf donut wheel.
1967 White Freightliner single axle tractor with a 45' Trailmobile donut wheel trailer. The unit was O/O by ol' Nertz hiself and leased on with Prudential Van & Storage/United Van Lines. Power came from an 8V-71 Detroit Diesel/RTO 913 Roadranger combo. This unite was featured in Overdrive magazine as Tractor of the Month in July 1974. 1953 Mercury M-800 tractor with a 35' Brant Chief trailer. The unit was O/O by Wards Transfer & Storage out of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The unit was driven by Howard Crapley and on lease to North American Van Lines (circa 1953). H.M. Trimble & Sons' out of Calgary, Alberta operated a fleet of these unique truck and pup combinations, built to comply with weight restrictions in place in Western Canada at the time. The trucks were B-61 Mack's with Beal aluminum tanks. Trimble is now part of the Trimac Group. B-75 Mack owned and operated by Hans Kemasek out of Calgary, Alberta Nicely restored Reo tractor. Owner is unknown. Photo was taken in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1985. B-61 Mack with 45 ft Fruehauf moving van owned and operated by Custom Moving & Storage out of Edmonton, Alberta. Custom Moving, later renamed All Canadian Moving Systems, always ran sharp looking equipment. Custom/All Canadian operated throughout Canada and served the Northwest Territories as well. Origianally United Van Lines agents, the company later switched to Atlas Van Lines affiliation.

Photo was taken at Kroll's Diner in Minot, ND (circa 1998). All Canadian Moving Systems had this smart looking Ford LTL 9000 in their fleet.
Robertson Transport, out of Medicine Hat, Alberta, ran a combined freight and moving operation. This smart looking #22 series White was part of the fleet. RTL had a mixed fleet. This 3000 White COE was among them. RTL originally had affiliation with Allied Van Lines. Pictured in this photo is an L-185 International tractor with Fruehauf van.
A 1959 Ford 800 tractor with Trailmobile van are featured in this photo circa 1960. RTL had made the switch to Mayflower by this time. B-73 Mack with Fruehauf van. O/O by Lee Dixon out of Grande Prairie, Alberta and was leased on with Polaris Moving & Storage, an Allied Van Lines agent in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.
Mid fifties International R-200 with integral bunk. Resin conversion with 1st Gear trailer converted to a tandem axle. The unit is done in early Trans Canada Highway Express livery. 1st Gear Bullnose Kenworth with tandem reefer trailer in early Midland Superior Express Limited livery. 1/25th scale AMT Peterbilt kit converted to a double bunk Hayes COE with AMT 40 ft Fruehauf trailer in Kingsway livery.
1/25th scale AMT Peterbilt kit converted to a double bunk Hayes COE with an AMT trailer in Yukon Freight Lines livery. (It's on the other side of the above unit) The ultimate sign for an aggressive business, Gravel Products Inc. of Minot, ND has this B-61 with low boy trailer and D-8 Cat on their gravel pit entrance on Highway #52 S.E. of Minot, North Dakota. Another neat sign featuring an H Model Mack COE at Gillies Truck Stop on Highway #11 at New Liskard, Ontario.
