This is a new Argosy we sold in late 2003 and is used for the delivery of steel products throughout the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. Atego was sold approximately 12 months ago and carries caravans and boats to various delivery points mostly on the east Coast of Australia. This was part of a road show of Atkinson and Seddon vehicles that visited Kempsey back in the mid 1970's as part of a promotional tour of the release of these models on the Australian market.
This was a photo taken back in the mid 1970's in Kempsey as part of a promotional tour of Atkinson and Seddon Trucks throughout New South Wales. This is an International ACCO 2350G configured as a bulk fuel tanker for local fuel deliveries from the owners - Mavin Petroleum - fuel depot in Kempsey. A photo of a Kenworth taken along side a Euclid 200 ton dump truck at a New South Wales coal mine.
This was a photo I found while going through my collection of truck photos. It is a 1965 Kenworth S925 but this is the only information I have on it. I spotted it on one of my travels and snapped the photo.and this was the outcome. This is another of the SAR Kenworths in the Heggies fleet that was carting coal to the Wollongong coal loader. This one was about ready to be put to work on this task. This was one of a fleet of SAR Kenworth's bought by Heggies Transport of Wollongong back in the 1970's. This one is waiting to be rigged up for work as a coal truck.
This Mack belonged to a friend of mine and was used at the time for carting poplar logs to a sawmill in Kempsey. The name on the bug deflector signified the work it was doing - "Poplar Pup" A photo of a White 4000 loading fuel at the BP Depot at Port Kembla, Wollongong also during the 1970's. The truck was owned by Jim Hitchcock Haulage of Nowra. This is another photo taken at an open day at the White Dealers in Fairy Meadow at Wollongong of a new White Autocar. This was probably around the mid 1970's period.
An Argosy that was sold by our dealership that carries steel products and timber in the area. This photo of the Flintstone Mack and W900 Kenworth was taken back in the late 1960's loading rutile at Port Macquarie for tranport back to the processing mill at Crescent Head near Kempsey. The trucks were owned by Cameron Haulage of Kempsey. This photo of a ford Louisville was taken back in the 1970's and it ws used for the transport of sawdust from local sawmills.
A new International Eagle towing a dog trailer that carries sawdust and woodchip around the local area and to Newcastle. The truck and trailer are fitted with a walking beam floor for unloading. This is a recently delivered Mercedes Actros 1841 owned by a local furniture removal company for furniture removals. This vehicle travels mainly in the Brisbane to Melbourne area but may be called on to travel further afield when required. This photo was taken back in the early 1990's and the vehicle, a Scania 112M of Bowens Petroleum was used for carting petroleum products from Newcastle to the mid north coast of New South Wales.
2 x Kenworth W900's of the fleet of Heggies Transport of Wollongong at the depot at Kembla Grange waiting to go out again to carry coal from various Illawarra coal mines to the Wollongong Coal Loader. This photo was taken during the 1980's of a Kenworth T600 owned by Ced Booth of Kempsey. At the time this photo was taken it was used for carting fuel and oil and as this picture shows it was in the process of being cleaned on a weekend ready for another weeks work. This photo was also taken around the late 1970's-early 1980s. It is a K100 Kenworth that was used for carting fuel from the Trial Bay Fuel Depot (near Kempsey) to various drop points in northern New South Wales. It was owned by Kelsall Transport of Grafton.
This was a Kenworth of about 1968 vintage after it was refurbished loaded with timber ready for a trip to Sydney. The photo was taken in the 1970's and the rig was owned by Woons Transport of Kempsey. This was a photo taken in the late 1970's of an Atkinson hauling a tipper trailer for the cartage of coal from the Burragarang Valley to the coal loader at Port Kembla (near Wollongong). This is also a recently delivered Sterling AT9500 used for general freight and fridge haulage work along the east coast of New South Wales.
This is a 1978 Kenworth K145 in 8 x 4 configuration. It is fitted with a Hiab crane and is used for carting timber. This is a photo of an Iveco Powerstar 6700 series and was taken while the truck was in Kempsey. It is based at Maryborough in Queensland. This photo was taken many years ago when the Bandag Bullet visited Kempsey for one of the past Truck Show weekends. The Bandag Bullet itself was a White Expediter and the transporter is a Kenworth.
A new Argosy delivered very recently. Fitted with a CAT C-15 motor and the vehicle is used for brick deliveries. we received from Freightliner as Freightliner Dealer of the Year 2003 for Australia. Quite a good award I would think for a country dealership. A new Sterling AT9500 only about 3 weeks old when this photo was taken. It is used for general freight and runs mainly Sydney/Brisbane. The name on the bug deflector is "Tara J".
This photo would have been taken in the early to mid 1990's for one of the Kempsey truck Parades. It is a 2435 Mercedes Benz and was owned by TNT Transport (now Toll Transport). Photo taken in the mid 1970's at Wollongong of this nice red Kenworth W900 which was owned by Verdon Transport of Unanderra. It was aptly named "KING RED" Taken in 1995 when the truck was delivered to it's owner - Ced Booth of Kempsey. It is fitted with a CAT 3406B motor and mainly runs between Sydney & Brisbane.
This truck was sold about mid 2003, is fitted with a Detroit S-60 motor and Eaton Smartshift transmission. Another Freightliner of GKM Transport of Grafton also stopped for a breakfast break. The sign on the bug deflector really sums up the trucking industry out here "GLUTTON FOR PUNISHMENT" This photo was taken just a couple of day before the new owner - a friend of mine - picked this truck up. It is powered by a Cummins Signature motor and will be used for general freight haulage between Brisbane and Melbourne.
This photo was taken back in the 1970's of a Kenworth SAR owned by John L PIerce of Sydney. It carted petroleum products from Trial Bay Oil Terminal (Kempsey) to various parts of Northern NSW. This is a Mercedes Benz Atego 2328 sold in January,2004. It is fitted with a tautliner body and delivers building supplies on the NSW Mid North Coast This photo was taken back in the 1970's at the International Dealer in Unanderra (a suburb of Wollongong) It was a new truck sitting on the lot for sale
1971 Mack R611 "Flintstone" and is now used as a farm truck carting cattle and hay etc just around the Macleay Valley. 1994 model Kenworth T900 Classic that runs the East Coast of Australia carting general freight. It is owned by Reiner's Transport of the Gold Coast. This photo was taken whilst the truck driver was having a rest break in Kempsey and was taken at 7.00am in the morning. The vehicle is owned by Richers Transport of Maryborough in Queensland.
A small Mitsubishi tipper owned by the Kempsey Shire Council and is used for road maintenance etc in the Macleay Shire area. This is a photo also in the same era of the Deutz Jupiter that Woons Transport also used to operate hauling flour and general freight. Once again this Chev truck was operated by Woons Transport and was used for local deliveries to surrounding areas. I think it would also have been taken back in the same era.
This photo would possibly been taken back in the late 1960's or early 1970's. It was fitted with a Cummins 903 motor and was used for general freight and flour haulage. Owned by Woons Transport of Kempsey - Bob Woon is standing beside the truck. This truck belonged to a good friend of mine and was taken a few years ago while he was following the wheat harvest in Australia. This photo shos his Mack "Poplar Pup" being loaded from 2 John Deere wheat headers at once. Previou to wheat haulage the truck was used for log haulage. This was a photo taken during a truck parade in Kempsey probably in the late 1970's of a Diamond T that was used for log haulage.
This is a 1996 Western Star 4964FX used for interstate transport. The name on the bug deflector is "Mystical Dreams" Taken a couple of weeks ago (April 2004) as the truck was heading north through Kemspey returning to it's base at Coffs Harbour.It is a Sterling AT9500 powered by a Detroit S60 engine and travels most of the east Coast of Australia. This photo would have been taken back in the 1970's and was one of the Allan Taylor fleet of Mack Log trucks based in Kemspey carting loggs for their Kempsey mill.
This is a 1969 Mack F700 taht is used to tow a low loader for moving earthmoving machinery around the Kemspey area. This photo was taken back in the mid 1970's at Fairy Meadow, a suburb of Wollongong, at Hills Truck Sales who were agents for White , Autocar and Leader Trucks. This was a photo I took a couple of weeks ago as I was heading into work on a Saturday morning. It was stopped at a shop and the driver was buying food and drink for breakfast.
This photo would have been taken back in the 11970's. It is a Volvo N12 and was used for carting Mobil fuel from the petroleum installation at South West Rocks near Kempsey before the site was shut down. This would also have been taken back in the 1970's and is a Volvo G89 that was owned by Verdon Transport of Unanderra at Wollongong. I took this photo at work when the truck came in for a registration inspection. It is a 1970 model Dodge 760 fitted with a Perkins Phaser T160 motor. The truck is still used to haul logs to the sawmill.
A Sterling AT9500 fitted with a Detroit S60 motor and Eaton Powershift transmission. Will be carting general freight between Sydney & Brisbane. A rigid Mack 320HP towing a dog trailer and carts overnight freight between Sydney and the mid North Coast of New South Wales. The vehicle is carting for Northern transport services of Newcastle. A Century Class C120 also used for general freight between Sydney and Brisbane. This unit is owned by Fews Transport of Coffs Harbour.
