"I included these because I felt it was important to show other truck photo buffs some of the mistakes I made in my early years. I think this is important to let the fans know I, like everyone, had to learn and start somewhere green and work on photo taking from zero up to what I've been able to accomplish over the years."
Some of the pictures were taken with Russ' then new 110 pocket camera. Russ was practicing and still didn't have his aim down perfect. In some cases he either cut off the front of the cab or the rear duals.

This is Russ' 10 speed bike parked at his "secret hiding place" along the Massachusetts Turnpike. It was just east of the Exit 3 Interchange. He would pedal the 1.5 miles fro his home, down to the pike almost every decent weather day for a little while of truck watching on the Massachusetts Turnpike before he got his driver's licence. Russ shot this photo while he was home on leave from the Air Force in August 1976, but most of his time was spent along the pike from 1971 - 1973. He had to visit his old hangout. The rig in the background is a Prince Spaghetti White Road Boss from Lowell, MA heading eastbound on the pike. |
