Clancy's Transfer & Storage appears to be based in Walla Walla, WA from what I can read on the trailer. In 1976 he showed up at Terminal Stations when I did so the S. axle KW made for a nice picture. Back in the days before Landstar when Ligon was known as Ligon Specialized out of Madisonville, KY. The driver of this Pete COE was working on his CB antenna's while layed over at Terminal Stations in early 1976. I guess the message on the rear of the trailer parked at Terminal Stations was this driver's version of Sammy Johns song "Chevy Van" when it was real popular in 1976.

Truck-A-Way, Inc. was an ag-hauler originally based in Vacaville when I shot these tractors one Sunday in 1976. At some point in the early 80's they moved their HQ & yard to more rural Dixon, CA. Pacific Motor Trucking GMC at Muffin Treat near Fairfield, CA in Feb. 1977. Chemical hauler Post Transportation Co. from the Los Angeles area had stopped by the Muffin Treat along I-80 near Fairfield, CA in Feb. 1977.

This was the very first truck picture I took in California after purchasing the 72 Chevy pickup I ran around in. This was taken the first week of Oct. 1975 near downtown Fairfield, CA. Three Fleming Foods IH Transtar's out of their East Bay area distribution center S. of Oakland and a Pete "needle nose" ag hauler at Muffin Treat in early 1976. Here's a double bunk KW leased to MCT Midwest Coast Transport from Sioux City, SD stopped at Terminal Stations in March 1976. An O/O leased to Mitchell Bros. Truck Line from Oregon had himself parked by the fuel islands at Terminal Stations in Feb. 1976. A Pete COE with truck & pull trailer flatbed setup and a long wheel base Dodge COE pulling a freight box with a rounded front wall at Terminal Stations during Fall 1975.

This O/O had leased his KWCOE to Eastern Refigerated Transport from Harrisonburg, VA and was stopped right off near where the Mass Turnpike & New York State Thruway connect back during the summer of 1974. Pyrofax Gas had this White Road Boss based out of their Westfield bulk plant when I shot this picture while the driver was eating at the Westfield, MA Hojo's during summer 1974

An O/O leased to Food Haulers, Inc. from Elizabeth, NJ was delivering this load to the former Westfield, MA Shop Rite Supermarket where U.S. 20 & MA 187 intersect in while I was home on leave from the Air Force during summer 1976. A UPS Diamond Reo COE stopped at Mr. Donut on U.S. 5 in W. Springfield, MA in early 1975. Terrible Herbst Oil from Las Vegas, NV stopped at Terminal Stations in early 1976.

Two loads of what looks like drainage culvert at Terminal Stations in mid 1976 Two "bedbuggers" layed over at Terminal Stations in mid 1976. A Lucky Food Stores White Freightliner/ an unidentified White Freightliner and a West Coast Truck Lines White Freightliner from Eugene, OR stopped at Terminal Stations in April 1976.

Here's a West Coast Mack COE and a White Freightliner stopped at Terminal Stations in mid1976. Here are two ag hauling White Freightliners who have just pulled away from the state ag inspection area at Terminal Station in late fall 1976. A sharp looking Marmon COE at the 49er 76 Auto Truck Stop along former I-880 (now I-80) on the N. side of Sacramento in Feb. 1976.

Post Transportation from the Los Angeles area unit 306 stopped at the Muffin Treat along I-80 near Fairfield, CA in Feb. 1977. An April 1976 scene at the 49er with an unidentified lumber hauler and a Petrolane liquid propane gas truck pull trailer setup. Syracuse Tank Manufacturing Co. from NY State use to run turnpike doubles Eastbound across the Mass Turnpike with these big sections of aluminum looking tubing with F Model Macks. I came across this unit stopped at a pullout just East of the Westfield Exit 3 early one morning during the summer of 1974.

Here is part of a line-up at the former Courtesy House 76 near Vero Beach, FL. The green & yellow White Road Commander belonged to Ploof Truck Lines out of Jacksonville, FL. Ploof was eventually acquired by the owner of Cypress Truck Lines also of Jax and merged into Cypress during the mid 90's. The owner of this KW was leased to bulk hauler Fleet Transport from Nashville, TN and was dieseling up at the Market 76 Truck Stop on U.S. 1 just S. of Ft Pierce, FL in early 1979. This is my only shot I ever got of a Dodge Big Horn. Sann's Trucking Service was from Maryland somewhere and I only could shoot him as he was about to pull into a parking spot at the Courtesy House 76.

Zanter Bros. Tractor Pulling team from Ohio used this IH 4200 to pull their competition tractor around to shows in early 1979 when I shot it at the Courtesy House 76. This scene was at a citrus packing house in downtown Vero Beach right off of U.S. 1 also in early Jan. 1979. This was the lineup one morning in early Jan. 1979 at the State Farmers Market along U.S. 1 just S. of Ft Pierce, FL. Two produce haulers loading up at the Egan Fickett & Co. packing house right off of U.S. 1 on the N. side of Ft Pierce in early 1979. Carroll's Express was a small carrier based out of Holyoke, MA (I believe) that fed their linehaul freight over to Elliott Bros. Trucking out of Easton, MD. This was taken at Elliott Bros. small terminal in W. Springfield, MA sometime during the summer of 1978.

A GMC 9500 long nose for H. or R. Goodman, Inc. from Springfield, MA taken in Mar. 1975 on Union St. in W. Springfield. This unidentified GMC Astro was parked across the street from the Springfield, MA farmers market while home on leave from the Air Force in Feb. 1976. An interesting looking setup with this W Model Ford hauling an inground pool "to be" on Eastbound I-80 behind the Muffin Treat Restaurant during Dec.1976.

Since I couldn't gain access inside of the big Chevron terminal at Richmond, CA in April 1976 I did the next best thing without a telephoto lens. Under the canopy loading are several Chevron tankers, what appears to be a P.I.E. with a White Freightliner and closest to the gate is a KW for San Pablo, CA based Acme Transportation, Inc. Here is a general view of the Jimco Truck Stop along CA 99 near Ripon, CA in March 1976. This Peterbilt truck pull trailer tanker was stopped on a city street in West Sacramento, CA sometime in 1976.

In 1976 the parking lot out in front of our fuels building was being expanded so I must have felt it important enough to capture the aggregate trucks doing their thing for the historical signifigance of the event. This is just a general view/experiment that I centered my old Chevy pickup with semi's all around it at the Muffin Treat in 1976. Creativity at it's finest, HA!! Hunt Wesson Foods was still operating this mid 60's KW in mid 1976 when I found him stopped at the Muffin Treat near Fairfield, CA

Came across this old Pete water rig at an industrial park that was being developed in 1976 not far from the main gate of Travis AFB near Fairfield, CA. It was weird to see an ex: IML freight box cut down to make a flatbed out of it with the front wall serving as his bulkhead. Northbound I-5 near downtown Los Angeles summer 1980 I thought this IH Transtar II leased to International Transport out of Rochester, MN made for a good picture from this angle. Georgia Pacific from their Tacoma, WA facility brought alot of lumber products from the Pacific N.W. into the Bay Area taken at Terminal Stations along I-80 at Cordelia, CA in May 1976

Here's a sharp IH 4300 leased to Seattle, WA area based reefer hauler Exley Express at Terminal Stations in 1976 The O/O of this Marmon COE had his rig leased to Greyhound Van Lines from IL when I shot it in 1976 @ Terminal stations This truck with pull trailer Pete I believe belonged to Specialized Transportation from possibly Yakima, WA, not for sure. I took it in late 1975 at Terminal Stations.

An unidentified Diamond Reo at Terminal Stations sometime in 1976 Bar-Ale Comet Feeds from Petaluma, CA ran a nice fleet of rigs pulling various ag related products. Hay was one of their specialties and this White Freightliner made for a nice picture next to the Diamond Reo tanker unit in July 1976. I remember I tried for a long time to get a picture of this sharp White Freightliner for Coast Gas from Watsonville, CA, but this was the best I was ever to do as he was pulling away from the pumps at Terminal Stations when I arrived one day in March 1976.
