Ford COE for R.C. Moore from Maine was taken in the summer of 1974 at the former A & P Ref. Warehouse in the N. end of Springfield, MA. Ford with flatbed at the Marquis Texaco along U.S. 5 in W. Springfield, MA was leased onto Pittsburgh & New England Trucking from Dravosburg, PA. that was a pretty big mill products hauler in the 70's. Ford taken at the Springfield, MA farmers market in 1974.
I shot this Ford in 1973 pulled over by the tollbooth of Exit 3 along the Mass Pike. KW COE, Singer Transport (or is it Trucking, can't read it) from NY State somewhere taken in 1974 at that small truck stop along I-90 at the NY / MA line which was destroyed by a tornado in 1972 and rebuilt. Brockway COE w/ tanker & driver posing (I couldn't get him to move out of the picture) belongs to Covered Wagon Train from Hornell, NY. They pulled freight boxes and covered wagons in addition to tanks w/ most of their tractors painted orange. This was taken the same visit as the Singer KW COE was to the MA /NY border truck stop.
Emeryville w/ the load of crushed cars can you put that in Truck Stop Gatherings which was taken in 1976 at the Cordelia, CA Terminal Stations. Front view of the newer and older model KW conv.'s were taken in 1976 at the 49er 76 N. of Sacramento, CA. Two Associated Food Stores from Boise, ID were also 1976 vintage taken at Terminal Stations.
White Freightliner COE was either leased to or owned by Dakota Express, a meat hauler based somewhere in S. Dakota, I believe. Taken in 1974 at Vallie's Steak House parking lot in Springfield, MA Peterbilt conventional belong to a large New England construction firm, John Lane I believe it was called based out of Meridan, CT if my memory serves me correctly. Shot this at the Westfield, MA Howard Jophnson's in early 1975. A forgotten Mclean Trucking taken during the winter of 1974-1975 in West Springfield, MA. This was the only non-sleeper White 7000 I ever saw for them up in New England. Perhaps some Mclean buff knows if they ran these day cab coe's more down in the Carolina's.
Ford 9000 COE taken in the mid 80's at the former W. Melbourne Days Inn by I-95 & U.S. 192. It has the initials MDC and wears NC base plates. This model with the extended sleeper berth was one of my favorite COE's. Mason & Dixon KW COE shot in early 1984 along U.S. 78 & 52 in N. Charleston, SC White Freightliner conventional is a Ryder System owned unit on lease to a co. called Western Overhead Door, no idea where they were based out of. This was also taken at Terminal Stations in 1977.
Peterbilt COE taken in Aug. 1981 just after sunrise at the Utah Welcome Center/Rest Area on E. Bound I-80 just East of the Nevada line in the Salt Flats area. I was traveling from CA to FL and had to to walk off the grogginess of driving all nite. East Penn Trucking, Lehighton, PA is a produce hauler and broker that use to operate a fleet of Marmon's COE's and conv.'s. Shot in the early 80's at The former Rexton Inn W. of Vero Beach by I-95. Curtis Products Co., Inc. from Atlanta, GA is a manufacturer of gums and candy food products. This was taken in the late 80's at the Days Inn W. of Ft Pierce, FL by the Florida Turnpike.
Keim Transportation early T-600 from Sabetha, KS I shot at the former Courtesy House 76 W. of Vero Beach in the late 80's. Indian River Transport orange juice hauler I took in the late 80's at a N. Bound I-75 rest area near Gainesville, FL. The Taylormaid from Albany, GA was shot in early 1985 at the N.B. I-95 rest area at the 168 mile marker. Tailormaid was one of several fleets acquired by the BN Railroad and was initally combined with Wingate and later folded w/ other fleets to form Burlington Motor Carriers (if my memory serves me correctly).

Sea-Land container drayage hauler at Pioneer Valley Ref. Warehouse in the North End of Springfield, MA on a dreary summer day in 1974.
CRST W model Ford COE from Cedar Rapids, IA Summer 1973 at Big Y Supermarket in Westfield, MA. John J. Lyons Jr. Potatoes from Montecello, ME. winter of 1973-74 at the Springfield, MA farmers market complex. KW COE w/ silver drom box. Fall 1975 at the I-80 Cordelia, CA Terminal Stations Texaco.
Colonial Board Co. not sure of their hometown, but I shot it during the summer of 1972 at the now torn down former site of Old Colony Envelope Co. in downtown Westfield, MA Widing Freightliner tanker taken at the Cordelia, CA Terminal Stations Texaco. L & V Trucking, Inc. taken at the Fairfield, CA Muffin Treat Restaurant.
C-F w/ ragtop were taken at the Fairfield, CA Muffin Treat Restaurant. Unidentified Dia. Reo "Raider" conv. was taken in Sept. 1976 at the Truckedero ARCO along CA 99 & Mack Rd on the S. side Of Sacramento, CA. Unidentified Peterbilt COE and Local & Western IH Transtar from Eustis, FL was also taken at the Truckedero ARCO S. of Sacramento in Sept. 1976.
Allied agent and IH Transtar was pulling for Continental Contract Carrier from the City of Industry, CA I believe was their HQ, taken during 1976 at the old reliable Terminal Stations Texaco in Cordelia, CA. This Sharp Flour Co. Pete I also shot in W. Sacramento. Unidentified KW COE with an empty flatbed taken during 1976 at the old reliable Terminal Stations Texaco in Cordelia, CA..
Mayflower Dia Reo COE was also taken in June 1976 at the 49er 76. That was my first good picture with my then brand new Yashica Electra 35. Gordon Trucking from Sumner, WA. They use to be a major beer hauler for Olympia Brewing out of Tumwater, WA like Santry Trucking was. Those kegs have got to be empty as that would be an awful lot of weight in one spot! Taken at the Cordelia Terminal Stations Texaco in 1976 Alaska hauler for Hill & Hill Truck Lines from Houston, TX. They were one of the main carriers for the building of the Alaska Pipeline. Next to him is a KW COE leased to Pyramid Van Lines from San Francisco, CA taken at the Cordelia Terminal Stations Texaco in 1976
Interstate Van Lines, Inc. from Springfield, VA taken at the Cordelia Terminal Stations Texaco in 1976 Sam Tanksley Trucking from Cape Girardeau, MO. They were a fairly large reefer fleet back in the 70's who mostly ran East and West. I hope some Tanksley fan or ex:driver can provide more info on them as they were a mainstay in CA's Central Valley region when I was there. Taken at the Cordelia Terminal Stations Texaco in 1976
