I thought this O/O's IH 9670 that he had leased to Inway from Rockford, IL made for a nice picture in Oct. 1998 along U.S. 60 about 20 miles East of Springfield, Missouri. Nothing fancy, just a good looking work truck. Golf cart hauler F and W Transportation, Inc. from Augusta, Georgia had stopped @ the N.B. I-95 rest area at the 168 m.m. South of Palm Bay, Florida with this then new Volvo VN sometime in the late 1990's. Prime, Inc. A pink Trans-Am Trucking T-6 from Olathe, Kansas taken in the early 1990's @ X-174 on I-24 near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Owner operator's KW T-600 that he had leased to Atlanta based Transus, Inc. and was @ the Vero Beach T/A in March 1994. Had no idea the Montana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventists operates their own fleet of rigs. Looks like they might also own Rhodes Bake n Serve rolls? I could not quite make out what city in Montana this KW T-600 is based at. Taken in the late 90's @ the Vero T/A.
United agent Hutchcraft Van Service at the Courtesy House 76 Auto/Truck Stop in the early 1990's. Viking Freight System sleeper team T-600 @ the former W. Caught this KW T-800 for Eagle Transport out of Rocky Mount, NC off-loading unleaded gas @ a W. Melbourne, FL C-store in May 1995. Lane Trucking. Inc. from Ashford (Dothan), Alabama was at the Falcon Oil Citgo near where I-95 & Florida's Turnpike meet W. of Ft Pierce in Oct. 1994. Lane was eventually folded into AMX (Alabama Motor Express). A later version of the KW T-600 whose Owner has it leased on with the Fleet Transport Div. of BMI that was based in Nashville, Tennessee. This shot was taken @ X-174 of I-24 just W. of Chattanooga, TN in the late 1990's.
Kelly Truck Line, Inc. originally from Pittsburg, Kansas before relocating to Joplin, Missouri was all dust covered from other truck traffic while parked @ the Falcon Oil Citgo W. of Ft Pierce in Oct. 1994. I believe Summerford Truck Line, Inc. and Lane Trucking, Inc. were jointly owned as both were from Ashford, Alabama which is just East of Dothan on U.S. 84. This WhiteGMC WLA was taken @ the former Texaco fuel stop on Florida Rt. 60 W. of Vero Beach in April 1997. Southeast Frozen Foods from the Miami area distribution center delivering to a former Food Lion Grocery in Palm Bay, FL during 1997.
Unidentified early KW T-600 @ the W.B. I-70 rest area between Columbus and Springfield, Ohio in May 1990. Found this KW COE V.I.T. for Atlas Van Lines I shot in the early 1990's @ the former W. Melbourne, FL Days Inn buried in my files that is slowly starting to dissolve. Karl's Transport, Inc. Antigo, Wisconsin @ the Vero Beach, FL T/A in the late 1990's.
I knew I had another shot of this nicely restored KW leased on with Mayflower buried in my file cabinet. I shot this about 1996/97 @ the lake Park, GA Flying J which is the last/first exit in Georgia on I-75, just above the Florida line. An unidentified KW with Mississippi plates, but I can read Alabama on the bottom of the drivers door. He was parked near Franklin, Kentucky just North of the TN/KY state line right off of I-65. I remember when Freymiller first got these original T-600 "Anteaters" They sure drew some stares rolling down the interstates. I shot #8309 in the early 1990's @ the then Courtesy House 76 W. of Vero Beach, Florida.
Twin PDQ Transport, Inc. T-600's from Cheyenne, Wyoming @ the Falcon Oil Citgo W. of Ft Pierce, FL sometime in the mid 1990's. PDQ was acquired by and merged into Keen Transport in the early 2000's. An unidentified W-9-L from North Carolina @ the Vero Beach, FL T/A in the late 1990's. A good looking Ford 9000 for an Owner Operator from Vero Beach, FL that I took in the early 1990's across the street from the Courtesy House 76 Auto Truck Stop W. of Vero Beach. An O/O leased on with Peterson Produce from Summerdale, Alabama (which is way South Alabama, below Mobile) @ the former W. Melbourne, FL Days Inn in the very early 1990's.
Looks like either Devendorf or Bevendorf Trucking (on the front of the hi rise sleeper) leased on with Bekins Van Lines from Hillside, Illionois. This was in the mid 1990's @ the former Holiday Inn W. of Vero Beach, FL. Eagle Carriers Ltd. from Somerset, Kentucky with this KW T-2000 @ one of the Florida's Turnpike service plaza's down in S. Florida back in the late 1990's. I'm not sure if Eagle and Super Service were sister fleets as both were from Somerset and had the same basic colors. Caught this almost new T-660 leased on with Ligon Nationwide from Madisonville, Kentucky @ a Best Western motel where I spent a night near Marianna along I-10 in Florida's Panhandle in late April 1991.
Not fancy at all, just your basic tough looking Mack Superliner for Port Everglades, Florida based Port Petroleum that pulled into the Vero Beach T/A in April 1998. For a short time in the mid-late 1990's Comcar Industries revived the old Clay Hyder Trucking Lines name and based it back in it's original North Carolina home state. Comcar also acquired Roseway Transportation from I believe Asheville, NC. On Aug 31, 1997 I was able to catch this Mack that had both fleets represented @ the Okahumka Service Plaza on the North end of Florida's Turnpike. A White Freightliner for Clay Hyder when they ran reefer's out of Auburndale, FL to show as a comparison.
Kenan Transport, Inc. from Chapel Hill, NC delivering to a Palm Bay, FL Lil Champ C-store in the mid 1990's (back in the good ole days when gas was a bargain). Cumberland Farms CH Mack in their Gulf Oil colors minus the Gulf logo. This was also delivering to one of their C-stores in Palm Bay in the late 1990's. Poole Schneider National Carriers after Schneider started re-branding and integrating Poole Truck Lines rolling stock that was based in Evergreen, Alabama into the Schneider National system. This was taken sometime in the mid 1990's at the then brand new Pilot Travel Center across FL Route 70 from Florida's Turnpike Ft Pierce interchange.
Marine Transport from somewhere in Michigan was using this Mack to deliver new boats to dealerships and had pulled into the Manada Hill, PA (North East of Harrisburg) T/A along I-81 in late Oct. 1993. The cab is somewhat washed out from the late afternoon sun shining brightly on it. Thought this early a.m. shot of this Contract Freighters, Inc. KW 2000 made for a nice shot @ the Montgomery, Alabama Travel Centers of America along I-65 X-168 (U.S. 80/U.S. 82) in Oct. 1998.
I'm not 100% sure if this is a Mack or a Hayes COE. Looks almost like a Hayes Bear symbol @ the bottom front of the passenger door. I remember this caught my eye one morning in the early 1990's @ the former Indian River Truck Brokerage lot W. of Vero Beach on Florida Route 60. Big Mayflower T-600 @ the Ruther Glen, Virginia Petro Stopping Center along I-95 in Oct. 1993. I believe I sent you a picture of the drivers side of this Quality Carriers CH Mack from Bristol, WI quite some time ago. I shot it in mid Oct. 1998 @ the Stafford, Missouri Travel Centers of America @ X-88 along I-44. This team operation foodgrade rig was squeaky clean from front to rear.
