This was the scene at the Glade Spring, VA Petro I-81 X-29 late afternoon Jan. 30, 2010 where we ran into alot of snow on our way to Berlin, Ohio.
Jan. 31, 2010 on Northbound I-77 in Virginia approaching the Big Walker Mountain Tunnel right around the bend. Photo by Lisa MacNeil. Southbound I-81 & Northbound I-77 at X-73, Wytheville, VA on Feb. 3, 2010.
All three of these rigs were shot at the Princeton, WV Walmart lot X-13 of I-77 on Sunday morning Jan. 31, 2010.
Living in Central Georgia I haven't seen this much snow since I was growing up in Western Massachusetts. I had to get shots of all three rigs while Lisa was inside Walmart.
Lisa took this shot of us passing the Swift and Saia rigs on Northbound I-77 a few miles North of Wytheville. A beautiful snow covered morning on the X-73 bridge over I-81/I-77 just as we left our motel in Wytheville, VA. Two plows on highway shoulder clearing duty coming off of I-81/I-77 on the Exit X-73 ramp Jan. 31, 2010.
I tried everything I had to get a decent shot of this Rid Aid F/L Columbia that I was rolling along withW.B. across the Berkshire section of the Mass Pike March 13, 2010. First I slowed down to let him pass me in the rain, then I passed him still in the rain. Then I pulled into the Lee service plaza to shoot him as he rolled by. However I had the camera zoomed in and only got parts of the two trailers. Then he was stopped at the tool booth at the Western terminus of the Mass Pike and took the final shot as I slowed for the tollbooth. Moral of the story: Some nuts will do anything to get a truck picture.
After I had got off at the first New York Thruway exit to shoot a few pictures at the Ambest then headed back East look who had just pulled away from the toll house! So I shot him one more time going the opposite direction. A total of 7 pictures and not one really worth too much of anything. But it was fun trying!
This UPS turnpike double had pulled into the Westbound service plaza on top of Blandford Mountain on the Mass Pike (I-90). When I pulled in there I was pleasantly surprised to get this photo opportunity so easy early morning March 13, 2010. The driver of this yellow Western Star for Eagle Trucking probably didn't know what to make of this situation as he was rolling to pull out of the Ambest at X B-3 on the New York Thruway and I was pulling in and shot him on the fly early morning on March 13, 2010. All he could do was wave and give me a puzzled look. New England Motor Freight IH 8100 at the Westbound
Mass Pike Lee Service Plaza March 13, 2010.

This O/O doing business as C & C Trucking from Laverne, AL and leased on with Greatwide Dedicated Transport had delivered milk to the Perry, GA Walmart when I came across him. Quick shot of this O/O leased to Pottle's Transportation from Maine as we were pulling out of the S.B. I-95 service plaza on the Connecticut Turnpike near Milford, early morning March 11, 2010. This is known as an R-11 refueling/defueling unit which holds 6,000 gallons of product. Caught this O/O leased on with NAVL's Specialized Transportation Div. shortly before it got dark this evening March 31st while he was passing me on NB. I-75 by X-92. Best I could do at 70+ miles an hour in close quarters. S.B. UPS Freight on I-475 about to go under the X-5 bridge on March 25, 2010.

Shot this the morning of March 29, 2010 at our local Publix grocery parking lot.

While Lisa was looking in some of the quaint shops in Berlin, Ohio in early Feb. 2010 I was outside "working the sidewalks" snapping a few pictures of the rigs rolling by on U.S. 62 & Ohio 39.
Most rigs were pretty wintered up covered in dried road salt spray.
