Most of these pictures were taken along the Trans Canada Highway. Parts of the highway are referred to as the Fraser Canyon and the Thompson River Canyon Highways.

This picture was taken between Gold Nugget and China Bar in 1939, along the Fraser Canyon Highway. This picture was taken around Siska in 1937. This picture was taken north of Yale, BC, below New Tunnel in 1938.

This is the Charles Hotel, located at Boston Bar, BC. It was built in 1917. This picture was taken in around 1941. The hotel burnt down in October 1949. This picture is taken on the Trans Canada Highway at Boston Bar, BC in 1941. Two of the people identified in the picture are Tom Bond, on the right, and "Old Cog" Harrington beside him. In the background is the Charles Hotel.

Here is a picture taken on the Trans Canada Highway at Boston Bar, BC looking north. The Shell station on the left is Harrington Motors. There is a mixture of trucking companies represented in the picture. There is a Dodge or Fargo belonging to White Transport, and some Internationals belonging to Carson Truck Line Ltd. The picture was taken in the mid 1940's.

Here is Harrington Motors' 1939 Ford tow truck pulling an International out of the ditch on Jackass Mountain. Here is a truck being pulled out of the ditch at the south end of 9-Mile Canyon, half way down to the bridge. Here is Harrington Motors' 1937 Ford tow truck pulling out a car at Hell's Gate.

You can see here that the Fraser Canyon Highway was not very wide and meeting a truck coming the other direction was not something a driver looked forward to. Here is a Greyhound bus over the bank near Tilton Creek.

Here the 37 Ford tow truck is pulling a car out of the ditch at the bottom of Tunnel Mountain. Here a Highway Liner truck is being pulled out of the ditch at Boothroyd in 1947. Here a bus is being pulled out of the ditch above Spences Bridge.
