Dennis Dawson worked at this Gold mine that was beieng developed in the mid 1990's. The mine camp was at 12,000 ft and the mine itself was at 14,000 ft. In Kazakhstan. All supplies had to be trucked in over 3 mountian passes 350 kms.
This is a truck stop near Bishkek, Kyrgyz. 1995 Urta tents at the truck stop. Inside a Urta, a dome typee, each Urta has different items for sale.
Truck stop between Almazy and Bishkek, called the peeing bear, Feb 95. Russia Ambulance 4x4 Russian truck with a drill mounted drill at the camp.
Ural truck 6 x 6 used as a crew bus. Rescue of a Helicopter after a hard landing, 1995 Helicopter loaded and ready to go for repairs, to Bishkek Kyrgyz, 350 kms away. This was tied down with wire on a 16 wheel trailer.
Russian 12 ton truck mounted crane and D-8 Cat. March 1995. Local milk trucks in Bishkek, March 1995. Used to be a Skud missile hauler now a low bed truck in the mine site.
A convoy of trucks on a switch back in the Barsicium Pass, usually 100 or more trucks would convoy at a time. 40 ton Blaz trucks. Pouring the first gold brick.
