Date: November 2012
Location: Southbound highway A-3. Near Wörsdorf, Germany.
Remarks: Approaching the redlight district on highway A-3, just north of Frankfurt am Main. There was an accident ahead, wich explains this traffic jam.
Location: Near Hersberg, Switzerland.
Date: November 2012
Remarks: Southbound highway A-2. Dusk on the highway, together with fog created a low shuttertime with this effect.
Date: November 2012
Location: Emmen, Switzerland.
Remarks: Southbound highway A-2. Long time ago they teared down the wall in Berlin... And builded a new one in Emmen.
Location: Near Chrätz, Switzerland.
Date: November 2012.
Remarks: Westbound highway A-4. When I drove for Reijnders, and was hauling for Geris into Switzerland back in 2000/2001, there was no Zürich ringroad. Nowadays you can easily avoid downtown Zürich on it's ringroad with a lot of tunnels.
Location: Zürich, Switzerland.
Date: November 2012.
Remarks: On the Zürich ringroad and on my way to Pfüllendorf in Germany, to pick up a load for Strijen, in the Netherlands.
Location: Schaffhausen, Switzerland.
Date: November 2012.
Remarks: Approaching the tunnel who leads me down into Schaffhausen. That's where the famous Rhine waterfall is. Unfortunally I haven't seen a drop of it...
Location: Near Schaffhausen, Switzerland.
Date: November 2012.
Remarks: Not far from the Swiss/German border now. Unfortunally it was dark when my collegue, who was also in Pfüllendorf, and I drove through the beautifull Schwarzwald ( Blackwood ) in Germany towards Kehl, where we made a nightstop at the Kehl truckstop.
Location: Moerdijk, the Netherlands.
Date: November 2012.
Truck: DAF XF105 SuperSpaceCab.
Company, homebase: H. van Toorn & Zoon. Eck en Wiel, the Netherlands.
Remarks: On our way from Kehl to Strijen we received a message that the customer in Strijen only received their goods untill 1 pm. Impossible to do, because at that time we just passed Brussels. That gave us a early stop at the Kanters truckstop, wich is the nearest truckstop to our destination. After a cup of coffee my collegue went for a nap and I decided to take some truckpics. The only pic I took was of this good looking DAF, because it started to rain for the rest of the day.
Location: Near Assen, the Netherlands.
Date: November 2012.
Remarks: Northbound highway A-28. On my way to Veendam. I really love the quietness of the north of the Netherlands!
Location: Gieten, the Netherlands.
Date: November 2012.
Remarks: Northbound on the N-33. In the future the N-33 will get a four-lane highway and renamed A-33. The roundabout near Gieten is replaced already by two overpasses, and ready to be a A-highway. The green line in the middle says that the speedlimit is 100 km/h instead of the usual 80 km/h on a two-lane road.
Location: Near Veendam, the Netherlands.
Date: November 2012.
Remarks: Northbound highway N-33. Less then 50 kilometres left to the northern end of the Netherlands.
Location: Near Hoenderloo, the Netherlands.
Date: November 2012.
Remarks: Southbound highway A-50. On my way back home for the weekend from Zwolle and facing the sun...
Location: Near Arnhem, the Netherlands.
Date: November 2012.
Remarks: Southbound highway A-50. The Dutch solution to the traffic jams is introducing the "spitsstrook" (rushhourlane ). When there's a lot of traffic and trafficjams are close, Rijkswaterstaat, wich is the roadowner simply open the hard shoulder for the traffic. Saved by a cameracircuit in case someone needs the hard shoulder in case of a failure. The green arrow above the hard shoulder will become a red cross and the "spitsstrook" is closed again.
Location: Near Heteren, the Netherlands
Date: November 2012.
Remarks: Southbound highway A-50. Sunset over the Nederrijn river, while suffering the daily trafficjam for the Waalbridge near Ewijk.
Location: Near Ewijk, the Netherlands.
Date: November 2012.
Remarks: The last ten years the Dutch government is doing a lot to keep the traffic moving and get rid of the trafficjams. Highway A-2 is rebuild from a four-lane highway to a six, eight, and even ten-lane highway. The Eindhoven ringroad is completly rebuild. The A-2 highway in 's Hertogenbosch as wel. The A-16 between the Belgian border and Rotterdam is rebuild and having more lane's now. Also as well highway A-4 between The Hague and Amsterdam. Now, in 2013 they are working on a new tunnel for highway A-2 underneath
Maastricht, so those trafficlights overthere are history in 2016. And, as you can see here, the Waalbridge near Ewijk will be doubled. The only big problem left will be the Lekbridge near Gorinchem in highway A-27, but I understood they are planning a tunnel there as will in the future.
Location: Near Ewijk, the Netherlands.
Date: November 2012.
Remarks: Southbound highway A-50. After passing the Waalbridge the sunny day came to an end when the fog was there.

Location: Near Remouchamps, Belgium.
Date: December 2012.
Remarks: Southbound highway E-25. On my way to Windhof in Luxemburg. Ever since contributing pictures to Hanks Truckpictures I tried to make a pic like this when passing the large valleyoverpass over the Amblève rivervalley near Remouchamps. And every time I had the dashboard, roof, the rightdoor, or anything else except this on the picture. You can see the Amblève valley, 80 metres below ( 262 feet ). The bridge was build in 1980, as part of highway E-9, wich leaded from Amsterdam to Genua in Italy. Nowadays it is
part of highway E-25. The bridge's nickname is "viaduc des suicidés". Until 2009, 130 people commited suicide by jumping of that bridge. In 2009 the Walloon government took messures to refrain people from jumping. Those messures are also visible on the pic.

Remarks: Northbound highway E-25. You see the difference on almost the same pic I took two years before on page 80? Much better this, isn't it?
Location: Eibergen, the Netherlands.
Date: December 2012.
Remarks: When I came back, dispatch gave me a nice ride to the north again. But the weatherforecast predicted a lot of snow that night, so I decided to drive the last two and a half hour I had to the De Keet truckstop in Eibergen. But when I opened the curtains at 7 am, I had this view... A Volvo and a DAF, but no snow at all...
Location: Somewhere between Oldenzaal and Hardenberg, the Netherlands.
Date: December 2012.
Remarks: The snow was a bit delayed, but found me when I was on my way from Oldenzaal to Hardenberg.
Location: Somewhere between Oldenzaal and Hardenberg, the Netherlands.
Date: December 2012.
Remarks: Now it really messed things up...
Location: Near Hardenberg, the Netherlands.
Date: December 2012.
Remarks: Untill it reached the level of a real snowstorm, when reaching Hardenberg.
Location: Groningen, the Netherlands.
Date: December 2012.
Remarks: On the Groningen ringroad. Gronningen is the most northern city in the Netherlands. Less snow here and finally on my way back home after a long day playing in the snow.
Location: Paris, France.
Date: January 2013.
Remarks: Northbound on the A-6. Now I cought the Montparnasse tower and the Eiffeltower together in one pic.
Location: Paris, France.

Location: Paris, France.
Date: January 2013.
Remarks: On the Phériphérique again.
