Location: Westbound highway E-40. Near Wetteren, Belgium.
Date: December 2009.
Remarks: Wintertime 2009/2010 in Europe was a cold and snowy one. Bunches of snow and very low temperatures were business as usual from mid December till mid February. Halfway November we had some frost and a bit of snow but the real winter started at this day at the picture: December the 17th 2009. While very cold air from Siberia moving westwards, rain moved in from the west towards the east. The rain transformed into snow when reaching the Northsea-coastline. I was on my way to Grande Synthe near Dunkirk ( France ). After passing Brussels westbound on highway E-40 it start snowing. About 30 minutes later the E-40 looked like this.

Highway E-17 between Gent and Antwerp was one large trafficjam due to snow so I decided to go via Gent-Zelzate-Antwerp. On highway E-34 there were no trafficjams at all as you can see here.
Location: Northbound Antwerp orbital. Near Kallo, Belgium.

Remarks: In the first week of January there wasn't any change in the weather since half December. Snow and low temperatures were still the mainmenu. On the 7th of January it took me more than an hour to pass Maastricht coming from Oelegem in Belgium, to Gronsveld. I chose already an other route to avoid the enourmous trafficjams on highway A-2. But as you can see, it didn't make any sence. It took me almost 50 minutes to pass this traffic light in the distance.........
Location: Gronsveld, The Netherlands.

Location: Southbound highway N52. Near Longwy, France.
Date: February 2010.
Remarks: After passing the Belgian/ French border near Longwy you have this view..... This is a cut-off of highway E-25 throughout Luxemburg. Highway E-25 near Luxemburg-city is getting busier, so most truckers prefer the N-52 via Longwy.
Location: Southbound highway A-30. Near Hayange, France.
Date: February 2010.

Location: Westbound A-89 Near Feurs, France.
Date: February 2010.
