Remarks: Boy oh boy. I was a little bit "frustrated" about the fact that I hardly had a chance for months to take a decent number of truckpictures. To busy at work - Means less time during stopovers. And when I had the time....It was raining....!! So I decided to make a bunch of "roadpictures" during a trip from Maastricht to Dijon ( France ) and back from Toul ( France ) to Woerden ( Holland ). Southbound highway E-25. After passing the city of Liège in Belgium the first serious climb up to the Belgian Ardennes begins. In this case I was climbing out of the valley of the Ourthe up to the highlands.
Location: Thionville. France.
Date: May 2006.
Remarks: Southbound highway A-31. A place to remeber, only because that church is so close next to the highway.
Location: Custines. France.
Date: May 2006.
Remarks: Northbound A-31. After unloading in Dijon, I loaded a load of toiletpaper in Toul for Woerden in Holland. That's about 6 and a half hour drive. Custines is just north of Nancy in the valley of the river Moselle.
Location: Custines. France.

Remarks: Northbound highway E-25. This highway is build in the end of the eighties. About 20 years later it needed totally to be renewed already.....Bad construction!
Location: Near Vaux sur Sûre. Belgium.
Date: May 2006.
Remarks: Northbound higway E-25. Another impression of the road repairs
Location: Baraque de Fraiture. Belgium.

Location: Near Manhay. Belgium.
Date: May 2006.
Remarks: Northbound E-25. Still going down the Baraque de Fraiture. This hill is about 6 km long. Clearly visible: The tracks of a drifting trailer of a trucking coleague. These tracks were visible for more than 2 km. That was a hell of a desent for this driver!!
Location: Near Manhay. Belgium.
Date: May 2006.
Remarks: Northbound highway E-25. Impression of the Belgian Ardennes.
Location: Remouchamps. Belgium.
Date: May 2006.

Date: May 2006.
Remarks: Northbound highway E-25. Only a couple of years ago, the highway in Liège was going straight through the center of the city. Now they have a new ringroad. However, less space in the several valley's in Liège created a very small highway with 3 tunnels and speedrestrictions.

Date: May 2006.
Remarks: Approaching the second tunnel northbound highway E-25. This tunnel is named "kinkempois".
Location: Liège. Belgium.

Location: Gronsveld. Holland.
Date: May 2006.
Remarks: Northbound highway A-2. This is how my hometown looks like when driving on highway A-2. But that afternoon Gronsveld was only a passing town, because I needed to unload that evening in Woerden. That evening I had my dinner and sleep at the Goudreinet truckstop in Vuren.
Location: Maastricht. Holland.
Date: May 2006.
Remarks: Northbound highway A-2. Entering the city of Maastricht. Maastricht is not having a desent ringroad because the city is in a valley. All the traffic must pass 6 trafficlights on highway A-2 to pass the town. In 2008 they will start to build a large tunnel underneath the eastside of the city. In 2015 it must be finished.

The driver of the rig on this picture, Pim, use to drive the Burggraaf Mercedes-Benz on page 5 when the company was hauling for Hartog & Bikker. This is a brand new DAF 105, the latest new DAF in 2006. The difference is mostly inside and underneath the cab.
