Pony Express - Accelerated Transport
Pony, based in Hagerstown, MD, was purchased by Hall's Motor Transit of Sunbury, PA in 1965.


This Passaic Terminal & Transport Ford pulling a Central Motor Lines trailer was parked on the side of U.S. 1 in Ft. Lee, NJ in 1955 or 1956. This Pony Express - Accelerated Transport GMC was parked in Bedford, PA in 1957. John Mason took the picture.

Pacific Intermountain Express (PIE)
P-I-E, based in Oakland, CA, merged with Ryder Truck Lines in 1982 to become Ryder P-I-E Nationwide.
P-I-E sent this picture of their line up of Internationals to me in the mid 50's. Notice the Peterbilt dromedaries at the far end of the line up? The P-I-E trailer was parked at the Eastern Express facility at Bedford, PA in 1959. John Mason took the picture. The International is eastbound on U.S. 20 in Angola, IN, in late 1959.
