Hayes Freight Lines

Hayes, based in Springfield, IL, was purchased by McLean Trucking Co. in 1958. In those days, it took at least a year for purchases to be approved by the ICC. While waiting for approval, carriers were operated in their own names.

Hayes Freight Lines Ford in the top pictures was parked on U.S. 1 in Ft. Lee, NJ in 1955 or 1956 Hayes Freight Lines Mack taken in IL in 1959.
Hayes Freight Lines GMC pulling a Minnesota-Wisconsin Truck Lines (of St, Paul, MN) trailer, was taken in IL in 1959.
Hennis Freight Line
Hennis, of Winston Salem, NC, was purchased by Spector Freight System of Chicago in 1975.
Hennis Freight Line Mack at the Silver Moon diner in central NJ, in 1955 or 1956. Freight Line Mack on U.S. 1 in Washington, DC in the summer of 1958.

Hemingway Transport

Hemingway was purchased in 1976 and 1977 by East Texas Motor Freight, Consolidated Freightways, and Wilson Trucking Corp.

Hendrickson Motor Truck Company
Hemingway Transport Mack parked on the shoulder of U.S. 1 in Ft. Lee, NJ in 1955 or 1956. Hemingway Transport Autocar bobtail at the Ft. Lee diner during 1955 or 1956. Hendrickson Motor Truck Co. sent this postcard to Fred in the mid 50's, showing their 'Off highway tractor for strip coal mines, model BD-1500.'
Hall's Motor Transit
Harris Express
Harris was based in Charlotte, NC, and was purchased by Ryder Truck Lines of Jacksonville, FL in 1966.
Hancock Trucking
Hancock, based in Evansville, IN, was purchased by Hennis Freight Linme in 1962.
This Hall's Motor Transit Dodge tractor pulling an M & M Transportation (Somerville, MA) trailer, was parked at the Ft. Lee diner in 1955 or 1956. A Harris Express H-model Mack is powering this unit on U.S. 40 in MD during the summer of 1958. This Hancock Trucking International was entering Angola, IN, eastbound on U.S. 20, in January of 1959.
