Here is a long awaited project that has really been going on since the mid nineties!! It started with a Racing Champions NASCAR truck which I felt had too short a hood! When looking the cab over it looked useable.......then after revamping a Herpa T 600 hood and making a mould of it I though I had a T600 of merit!! Then Model Power came out with the T 600 and I thought the cab was better............still needed something, but closer!!?? I chopped the thing up again and started with the Model Power, using the hood/cab and pie cutting a section out of it!! I lowered the windshield opening and that started to look better; still couldn't finish it till suddenly I had a need for more modern KW trucks in my collection! Once again I revived the thing and took apart of the Model Power side skirt, took a rear section of a skirt made years ago and mated the two together for the result shown!! The original Model Power windshield still fits in OK!!

It is mounted on a Herpa metal chassis that was the original platform of the first attempt; I just made this one fit on and went to town to get the T600A finished after nearly ten years!! The paint is 66 Ford silver frost with Chryslers Canyon Red (Little Red Express colour) for the red in base/clear coat auto finish. Mirrors are the Model Power, deck plate and air horns are Racing Champions, decals are from PenBay (mudflaps) There it is!!

As promised, here is the finished trailer for the T600!! It is a Promotex 48' tridem grain hopper that is slightly modified by adding the front & rear header bars, brass ladders, lowering the ride height slightly. Spoke wheels/tires from Athearn. Trailer was all silver with a light red tarp so white sides, front &rear were painted and the tarp red!!
Two photos showing the comparison of the two KWs; the one on the left being of course the starting point and the one on the right the finished product! Italeri Kenworth T2000 tractor as it came out of the box, and hooked to a different brand container chassis and container.
IHere are some photos of the T2000 finished along with the container!! This one is set up on a modified Athearn chassis with A-Line front wheels and Dennis Aust rear wheels. Boley mirrors (from the GMC Topkick) utilizing the original 5th wheels and mudflaps. All chrome is Alclad and the paint is R-M auto base clear with Chrysler's Emerald Pearlcoat on the bottom and Deawoo's Seamist metallic on the top!! Penbay decals on the mudflaps.

Both the container and the chassis are Walther's, the chassis was slightly weathered and the Genstar container was given a semi-gloss clear coat.

Versa-Cold decals are from Ken Goudy. The Pete was built by JACOBS SCALE MODELS. Nice setup
I took my R model apart and repainted it!! They are tough to get apart but the result is well worth it!! Even if the paint scheme is of use, they still need a claercoat applied in my opinion........that doesn't seem to be a problem for me though!! Mine started out as the blue and orange Acme Towing scheme. Any way here is the result; all chrome is BareMetalFoil, details include mirrors, bumper guide posts, rubber bumpers on the push bumper and mudflaps!! The finish is urethane automotive finish Dodge Truck Bright Canyon Red!! The gold Bull Dog on the hood indicates an authentic Mack power plant!!
Beginning of the Freightliner Century day cab. Can't wait to see the end product. Classic Metal Works trailer hooked up to a Leetown Mack B-61
B model Mack is an Athearn unit with modifications to the rear mudflaps; other then that has just been dismantled and repainted.
I just thought I would show you this Volvo that is just mocked up with a Bison trailer; when the new Volvo arrives it will take its place..........Bison did not use this type of roof The Volvo is of course Tonkin with the rear suspension cut off and Italeri air bag added, T 2000 mirrors and Boley wheels front and rear. The paint was stripped off and authentic Bison auto bas/clear added. Chrome trim is Bare Metal Foil, the trailer is a Walther's 53' dry box re-lettered for Bison with only slight paint detail added.
The Reimer Vision begins with a modified Promotex CH sleeper that has side extenders added and the upper window closed off. A cab was mated to the Masterbilt resin hood/bumper on the Promotex chassis, lengthened tanks, resin tool box. Model Power front wheels with A-Lines steel disc on the rear, The trailer is a Walther's 53' dry box as it comes; the truck was painted in authentic Reimer auto paint base/clear with Ken Goudy decals, PenBay and MicroScale detail decals.
Reimer Mack Vision hooked to a Roadway Strick 48' trailer by Athearn box stock!

Early in 2005, I asked Jim to custom paint my Tonkin Replicas Peterbilt 379. Here are some progress shots.
