Here is another picture of Jim's International 8300. Here are two views of Jim's modified Ulrich Kenworth model. Notice the work done on the cab windows and wipers, the head lights and the sanders in front of the drive axles.

Roadchamp or some type of dinky toy '81 Freightliner with scratchbuilt frame, tanks, sunvisor, exhuast stacks and wheels tires from Lee-Town. The tanker is also a dinky toy with Herpa's suspension and tires and front fenders. This truck is not exactly 1/87 scale but very close. Walther's Ford LNT car carrier slightly modified. Updated gille/ headlites and wheels and tires out of the scrap box. Trailer is slightly modified to be able to load different cars/vans etc. IH Transtar COE from Walker Models. Windshield is from Athearn's Freightliner COE modified to fit and wheels/tires are from A-Line. Trailer is Lonestar's Barrett Livestock straight out of the box.......awesome kit!
Here are pictures of a modified Herpa Freightliner COE. It was updated to an '89 model changing the headlites to rectangular ones, updating the grille, adding air ride rear suspension and battery boxes and hydraulic oil tank for the dump. The dump trailer is semi-scratch built utilizing many different pieces out of the scrap box. It is modelled after a Cobra 33'/36' end dump. Lead axle on trailer is a lift and the rear is a fixed 72" spread. All the wheels/tires are Herpa.
Jim reworked the original Magnasen Models/Walthers into a hollow cast newer version of the International Loadstar.
The first pictures are of Jim's Ford LT 9000 with a modified Atlas frame to accept the long hood/cab conversion. The bumper is scratch built and molded for future use. Other details include mirrors, wipers and grab handles from staples, air horns from sprues, mud flaps and quarter fenders. Wheels are from A-Line.

The trailer is Herpa/Promotex's 48' modified to resemble a Trailmobile. Suspension is from an Ertl flat bed made to slide and wheels are from Walthers resin. Decals are thanks to Ken Goudy!

This picture shows Jim's son, Jamie's, Ford LTL-9000 with the Barret Livestock trailer; its the same one that Jim built for the IH COE.......just on loan to Jamie for the photo shoot.
This set of pictures are Jamie's (Jim's son) LTL Ford 9000. The hood, bumper, tanks and interior were scratch built and molded for future use. The frame is a lengthened Herpa Ford Aeromax, as are the wheels, wipers, mirrors and sleeper bunk. Modified toolboxes air horns and half fenders are from a Promotex Pete. Scratch built items include rear lite bar/mud flaps, roof lites, sunvisor and bug deflector.

Trailers are modified Walther's Stoughton 48' to a B-train 32' lead and 30' pup. Side doors added from Herpa's old 40' trailers; the lead has a sliding 72" suspension and the pup a 60" and roller boxes added to under side.

The front of the Freightliner cab took some bodyworking to improve the Freightliner look; the front windsheild area was sanded back and the windshield opening filed wider, adding a split at the center; the wheel arch area improved adding flare and extending the body line from the lite area back to the rear of the arch.

The trailers are changed from 48' to 32 and 28 for the pup. The rear suspension converted to single on pup and sliding tandem to the lead which is modified from Walthers to accept the 5th wheel hook up.

Now here is the completed model.
