Manitoulin Transport. This company has some unique equipment on the road. This unit has a long box with a van trailer behind it. Photo taken at a truck show. The Ellis Collection. Manitoulin Transport Freightliner with a long box and a tarp and rack trailer. Note the tractor has 3 axles. The front axle has single wheels and the rear two axles have tandem wheels. Manitoulin runs mostly into Northern Ontario. This unit has a flatbed trailer with fuel tanks underneath. They haul fuel to the north and return with lumber to the south. The Ellis Collection. Walker Transport Ltd. from Aylmer, Ontario. This company has a large contract with Imperial Tobacco and they also haul some auto parts.

Zavitz Brothers ran reefer and dry vans from Wainfleet, Ontario and had a container division in Mississauga. They were boughtout by an Australian in 1985. Wainfleet yard closed in 1988 renamed Zavitz Transport International and went broke in 1990.

Some of the variety of equipment that Anderson Haulage of Stouffville, Ontario uses. They specialize in over sized loads. In the background of the fourth picture is an old Kenworth. They didn't know the year off hand. The fifth picture is their new Pete, hooked a ready to go and pick up a transformer. They were very gracious and allowed me into their yard to take these photographs.

Tudhope Cartage

This is a shot of Tudhope Cartage from Parry Sound, Ontario. They are mainly a gas and oil carrier that have been around for many years. The majority of their fleet are Macks. Photo taken in Oshawa, Ontario, January 2000. This is a couple of Tudhope's taken in North Bay, Ontario. Note the new company crests on the doors. Photo taken in July, 2004. This is the oddball of the Tudhope fleet. GVW of the tractor is 60,000 lbs. and the trailer has a GVW of 80,000 lbs. All axles support 20,000 lbs. each with an overall length of 21.8 metres. Canada Cartage
Canada Cartage is an Ontario carrier who has been around for many years. Canada Cartage is based in Toronto. They have a large number of Fords/ Sterlings tractors in their fleet. They do a lot of work for the LCBO ( Liquor Control Board of Ontario ), Canadian Tire and a couple of large grocery stores throughout Ontario.

J & F Haulage is mainly a flatbed carrier based in Ajax, Ontario. It is mainly a Mack truck fleet. They have a lot of older equipment, but it is well kept and maintained.
