Established in 1786, Molson Brewery of Montreal, Quebec, has the distinction of being North America's oldest brewery. On August 17, 1955 Molson's opened a brewery in Toronto, Ontario.

Photo taken at Actinolite, Ontario, April, 1978.
In November, 1977, Molson's Brewery acquired the assets of W. J. Hyatt Transport Ltd. This was a trucking company that distributed Molson's products since 1946. At this time, Molson's changed the corporate image and also changed the numbering systems of the trucks. The first 2 numbers is the unit number and the last 2 numbers is the year of the tractor. The trailers are reversed.

Tractor 3685. Molson's purchased 16 of these R700 Macks with 400 Cummins engines, 15 speed transmissions on a 72" Neway air ride system. The only option overlooked was the paint. Photo taken on Hwy. 7 west of Sharbot Lake, Ont., May 1985.

In late 1988, the laws in Ontario changed making it legal to show the beer products on the side of our trailers.
At this time, this is when I felt that Molson's fleet looked their best.
