On May 28, 2009 you may have noticed that the Forum was in maintenance mode for quite a while. Well it is a long story. But I won't bore you with all the details. The short of it is that I needed to apply an upgrade to the Forum software and there was a bug in the process. After trying many different methods to get it to work, I gave up and put the Forum back online.

Then today (May 29, 2009), I did some more research and found a workaround for the "bug". Now the Forum if properly upgraded and things appear to be okay again.

Thank you for your patience.

Con-Way Sterlings sound good with CATs. cool  Cool photo.  I see the occassional Xtra Lease trailer being pulled by a CWF truck, but they're no longer than 48'...

We'll get some sun in January and February right after the snow stops, its a cold sunshine though. Willy would be out in his Speedo and SPF 100.

I was always partial to having grey under the hood rather than yellow.  The 12.7 60s pull a bit better from my 100% unscientific seat of the pants judgment.

Mercury.

90% of the OSP's have Chargers now. The only reason they keep the Fords is because they require 2 years with the State before the troopers can get a Charger. You can always tell a Noob. Those 6.1 Hemi's can roll.  cool

Red,

Plus sometimes you might get a 10 speed, instead of knowing your going to be in a Fisher Price.

Chrysler offered Oregon a fully loaded Charger with leather seats and an ungoverned 6.1 Hemi for about 5,200 less per vehicle. Chyrsler also won Oregon's SUV and Pickup buying last year as well. Previously Chevy was the supplier.

This is drifting off topic but soon we will have to add a field in CLASSICS for Crown Vic.
They've been built for the last few years at Ford's St.Thomas Ontario assembly plant.
The agreement was signed last week to close St. Thomas down.
I haven't read that they are transfering the production to another plant.

Nope, the Crown Vic and Grand Marquis are going to get killed after that plant is closed down, or so I've heard. I have no idea what Ford is going to replace them with - if anything - but as a big fan of the old "land yachts", and a proud owner of a '97 Grand Marquis LS that was built at the St Thomas plant, I find this to be a sad occasion indeed.  sad

Where is that spot Nate?  It's a great location with great pictures.  I noticed there is even some standing water right where you catch them, giving a dramatic spray shot.

Its in Coburg, off Exit 199 on I-5. Its directly across the street from the T/A, in the old 76 truck stop. Buildings are long gone, but there is plenty of room for me to park and take pictures of the guys coming off the Interstate.

Theres a lack of drainage in the area, so when it rains for days on end, the water just stays in the streets. Over by Freightliner the entire street was covered in 4-8 inches of water that day.

Nice shot Nate,   Ive been seeing alot of lease equipment at Conway Portland which is just around the corner from the Schneider OC.  They have a bunch of Penske tractors and 2 Penske box vans, and several of these XTRA lease 53' trailers.   I have also been seing several old Conway Truckload(Pre CFI) trailers with the grey side skirts re-branded as Conway Freight being pulled around by single screw Sterlings.

Did Conway give up on the skirts? I don't see them on the east coast, but remeber seeing a ton on them out west on a trip in 2006.
