The web site was back up last night and Google didn't report any attacks. So we are safe again.

I have been working with my support people to prevent this from happening again. Thank you for all your patience while this was getting resolved.

Conway's management has revamped their truck load services from what I can tell.
They had an expedite divison CONWAY NOW!
They also had a full load division.
Conway Now! was sold to Panther Transportation in late 2005 or 2006.
In 2007 Conway aquired CFI - Contract Freighters Inc.
From what I have read on the internet; the CONWAY TRUCKLOAD operation was folded into CFI.

There is a place near me who receives loads of something on CFI.
Lately, trailers from these former Conway divisions have been appearing.

CONWAY TRUCKLOAD

CONWAY NOW

Even fairly recent companies like Conway have divisions or schemes that end up in the Fallen Flag category.

The original CONWAY TRUCKLOAD was CWT and they had a logo that looked the same as all the other Conway Companies.  They were sold out to Covenant in 2001.  They also had an intermodal division called CON-QUEST.  I believe there is a picture on this forum of a CWX long box parked next to a CON-WAY NOW! long box.  The photo was taken recently, which means that CON-WAY NOW! trailer was probably being used for truckload.

This is a Conway Now long box which is a captive trailer used by Conway in the Reno/Sparks area for P&D work.

I'm confused, which name is going to survive, Conway Truckload or CFI?

CFI Paul.
CFI will be
"A Conway (maybe CNF?) Company"

Conway Truckload did not survive the merger.

I'm just reading reading through this.

One of the captive city vans that Con-Way Reno uses actually says "Con-Way Truckload" from the 1st go around in 2001.  LTL Captive City vans have to rank up there with con-gears and lift gate trailers for long lived equipment. Out west where rust is not much of an issue equipment can live a very long time.

I've been wondering about this for a long time, I looked at the Conway website and it has truckload and it looks like now theres still Conway truckload. I was thinking of starting a new thread but then I found this one. Can someone tell us a little more recent detail on the merger? Thanks.

Conway Truckload survived the merger, CFI did not.  They kept the Conway name to associate with the LTL side of things, as well as Conway overall owning this side of service.  New equipment is in Conway Truckload colors as well as saying "Conway Truckload" on the side.  Eventually, all of the CFI trucks were rebadged to say "Conway Truckload."

If there is still some confusion, think back to UPS Freight purchasing Overnite and Motor Cargo.  Company name became "UPS Freight", it didn't remain Overnite.  Patches were put over the current paint scheme, and new equipment came in the new UPS Freight colors and lettering.  UPS (same with Fedex and their LTL movements) want fellow companies to have their name in it.  Martrac was renamed UPS Logistics, Mail Boxes Etc. became the UPS Store, et al.

Last year, when John Becker and I went to the UPS 100th Anniversary in Harrisburg, there was a new UPS Freight Volvo and Great Dane pup there.  FWIW, the FHWA inspection decals on the units read "Overnite Transportation Co. d/b/a UPS Freight"

Thanks for all the information, I understand this much better now. Since I live in Hawaii now I don't see many of the big trucking companies around here so I get my info second hand.
