Mercury Freight Lines
Based out of Mobile AL, They had a two man terminal in Hickory NC that I worked at from 1976 to 1980. We had GMC 9500 for local tractors, Linehaul Tractors out of Mobil and Birmingham were Peterbilt's, Kenworths, and GMC Astros. Most Trailer were 45 ft Great Dane Wedge. Clarence Levi was the president of Mercury Freight Lines. Clarence Levi died in 1977. Mr Levi, his wife and five others, including Mercury's Vice President of Finance and one of its Auditors all died in a plane crash.
