Canadian Freightways Freightliner Rocky Mountain Doubles taken at their Calgary, Alberta terminal. The truck was on its way to Edmonton. Note the old tractor paint scheme. Volume Tank Transport Kenworth B-Train taken in Mississauga, Ontario. The truck is used to haul gasoline from Toronto to Timmins, Ontario. Lomak Kenworth tri-drive B-Train. These truck were known as "Cup Cake Transport." They were used to haul ore from Faro, Yukon to Skagway, Alaska. The company only operated for appriximately 5 months and the mine shut down, forcing Lomak our of business.
Hutton Transport R-700 Mack dedicated carrier to St. Marys Cement in St. Marys, Ontario. One of the first R-700's built in Oakville, Ontario with a Cummins engine and Neway air ride. Shaw Transport Kenworth K-100, non-sleeper with twin steer air life axle. This unit was out of Thunder Bay, Ontario. This is NOT an ideal city truck. TNT Bestway Kenworth T-600 with a set of double. St. Johnsbury Ford L-9000 taken at MidCon Truck Terminal in Toronto, Ontario. Mullens Contracting, from Detroit, Michigan, Ford LT9000 Michigan dump train taken in Detroit. Manitoulin Transport Western Star. This truck ran a Cummins engine but also burned natural gas; hence the tanks. The idea was that the engine would run on dual fuels, but the problem was the number of tanks required for the natural gas. This was not a success and the project was scrapped.
Trimac Ford CL9000 Rocky Mountain doubles. These are acid trailers. The photo was taken in Mississauga, Ontario. Williams Moving GMC General with a non-matching drom, based out of Calgary, Alberta, agents for United Van Lines. Reimer Express International 9200 owner/operator that was Winnipeg bound. The photo was taken at their Mississauga terminal.
Canadian Great Western Express Ford CLT9000 with a mixed A-Train set. CGWE was based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba and the photo was taken in Mississauga, Ontario. Penn Yan Express Brockway Model 759. This was a senior driver's truck, hence the fog lights and bug deflector. The tractor also had a liquid pump to haul fuel to other terminals. The photo was taken at their head office in Penn Yan, New York. Brazeau Transport Western Star, axle back. This truck ran in their international division, which meant into the US. The photo was taken at Kingston, Ontario. Direct Winters Transport GMC model 630, with 1953 plates. The photo was taken at their Toronto terminal on Queen Quay on the Toronto water front.
Liquid Cargo Lines Autocar Constructor, long wheel base pulling a quad axle asphalt tank. The photo was taken at London, Ontario. Imperial Roadways Mack R-600. This photo was taken at the Mack Toronto branch on the day that this truck was brand new. Transport Robert International Paystar 5000. This is a Quebed carrier. This is not a truck usually made into a highway tractor with sleeper. The photo was taken in Mississauga, Ontario.
