UPS GMC Astro taken on I-71 in Ohio in January 1981. United Parcel Service Freightliner Argosy taken at Medford, OR. This was the only Mack Western UPS that Dave had ever seen, and this he saw in Lovelock, NV in June 1983.

Before UPS decided to change to conventional tractors, they had decided the International CO9670 was the best they had ever used and they standardized on them .
International did many special things for UPS on this tractor. Several noticeable ones are the in use of the 9700 turn signal panel on the 9670, the special extension for the air faring that was designed especially for UPS, and the special step insert on the fuel tanks. The cab had a special rear cab mounting spring suspension that UPS wanted to protect the cab to comply for the former 14 years they used to operate their tractors.

UPS White/GMC tractor 1996. UPS purchased a number of GMC Astro's and when the production ended they moved for a short time to White/GMC's. Don Querciagrossa Collection.
