Jevic is a sister company to Saia and owned by SCS Corporation which was spun off from Yellow Corporation a few years back.

A Bit of SCS Corporation History

1924 - Saia founded in Houma, LA

1981 - Jevic begins operation

1986 - Saia purchased by Preston Corporation

1993 - Yellow acquired Preston Corp., which included Saia and Smalley

1994 - Yellow acquire Johnson's Freightlines (renamed WestEx)

1995 - Yellow merged Smalley into Saia

1997 - Jevic IPO (Initial Public Offering)

1998 - Yellow acquired Action Express

1999 - Yellow acquired Jevic

2001 - Action Express and WestEx are merged into Saia

2002 - SCS Transportation is formed, spun-off from Yellow
