Brown Transport was a SE regional carrier for many years. In the 70's they started a truck load operation hauling carpet to many cities. They over expanded with the purchase of Leaseway Express and Thurston Motor Lines as well as Brown Truckload and failed in the late 80's.

Brown Transport Kenworth K100, with the fluorescent red safety striping, which was often in the West. Don Querciagrossa Collection. When deregulation came in, they went to the West Coast and used these Kenworth W900 single axles for doubles sleeper power. Don Querciagrossa Collection. Brown Transport Truckload, Inc. was a sister truckload company to Brown Transport's LTL operations. In the mid 80's they purchased about 200 Kenworth T600 tractors for this operation. They had operated a truckload division, mainly hauling carpet from GA and general freight back. Don Querciagrossa Collection.
