Advance Transportation Company, based out of Milwaukie, WI. Advance became ANR-Advance Transportation Co. in 1995.
	Here is a picture of an ANR-Advance International taken at Dayton OH. The tractor once belonged to ABF. In 1986, ABF bought a split order of Internationals and Whites. They were traded in 1989, ANR bought the Internationals, and PIE bought the Whites. ANR actually owned these tractors for almost ten more years. David Faust Collection.

	Advance Transportation is from a classic carrier from Milwaukee, WI that got its start operating between Milwaukee and Chicago. They always had painted trailers to match their tractors in excellent condition. Tractor had a Caterpillar 1160 diesel engine. Don Querciagrossa Collection.

Early on when Advance Transportation were very regional they operated FTL COE tandems and took good care of them ran them for ever. Don Querciagrossa Collection.	Later Advance switched to mainly Ford for road tractors as well as city and these always looked great. Don Querciagrossa Collection.	This Western Star came from with acquisition of Tumbelson Transfer in Peoria. Photo taken 1974. Advance Transportation originally had all painted two tone trailers with a very nice rear door treatment with reflective barricade on a black back ground. Later, when they went to standard prepainted white trailers, they kept the barricade door treatment as shown in these two examples. Don Querciagrossa Collection.

Advance Transportation had a special low boy that could transport a tractor in a set of doubles as shown with the Ford CL9000 single axle tractor. Don Querciagrossa Collection. Advance Transportation Mach CH's with Jifflox. These may have been the last tractors purchased before the merger.		ANR Advance White/GMC was one of a group purchased and they were the first new tractors purchased in almost 10 years. Many ex-ABF tractors were purchased to keep the fleet going. I have one of ANR's trucks converted to a dump, I have a copy of the original title to ANR to document ownership and a person can see the imprint left on the paint The original Fleet Number was 319, so I kept that one on it, It still runs like a bear.
