	The first Arkansas Freightways road tractors that they purchased when they opened were 50 used Ford CL9000's. They were available from the downsizing of East Texas Motor Freight before ABF purchased them. These tractors had less than 500,000 miles on them. Notice they were all painted to the same high standards that American Freightways maintains today. All the tractors were set up for Jifflox and Detroit Diesel 6V-92 engines.

American Freightways used International 8100 tractors when they first started. They did later purchase 20 White RBS tractors. Both photographs taken when they were known as Arkansas Freightways. LE1 was one of American Freightways Local Experimental trucks (hence the LE designation). It's the only Ford local truck that Wayne had ever seen in AF dress. Wayne Rugenstein Collection.	R3307 shows an incomplete rebranding. The large AF logo has been removed but no FedEx logo has been applied. Compare with R3322 and you will see the removal of the red, white and blue stripe down the side. Wayne Rugenstein Collection.	R3322 is a test International, this was received after American Freightways got about 300 of the Volvo VNs. Obviously they kept with the Volvos. Wayne Rugenstein Collection.
