Triple K Transport Freightliner
Based out of Stittsville Ontario near Ottawa this growing medium sized fleet is a specialized flatbed carrier. Known for their fleet of Freightliner's with most looking like unit 156, except for some century class and cabovers on b train service. It is easy to spot a Triple K truck with the long wheelbase single bunk 112's on 8 hole buds and lowprofile tires and small 350 horsepower motors. All their trailers run 19 and a half inch bud wheels. They mostly haul coiled steel wire(called slinkeys) out of Ivaco rolling mills near Hawksbury Ont. Sometimes on their B-train 6 axle setup they will load up to 50 ton payload. In the picture a heavy snow has fallen as the driver has just cleaned the packed snow off the tail lights, checked the chains and tarp and is ready to leave Nairn Centre with this overwidth load of flatsteel originating out of Algoma Steel in Sault Ste Marie. |
