Arnold Brothers Transport
Arnold Bros. Transport began in 1947 by two brothers, Jerry and Frank Arnold in 1947. Beginning with a single truck on local Manitoba hauling, they began expanding in 1953 with the acquisition of 19 additional trucks. The company was incorporated in 1958 as Arnold Bros. Transport Ltd.

These photos were both taken at Arnold Bros. yard in Peters Corners, Ontario in the late eighties. Peters Corners was a small yard and seemed to be almost a transfer point for assembling loads of new farm equipment. I'd think Arnold Bros. picked this location since it was near Brantford that had two large equipment manufactures Massey Ferguson and the White Farm Equipment. For many years farm equipments, tractors and combines made up the bulk of the loads for Arnold Bros. in the sixties, seventies and eighties.

Arnold Bros company owned Ford Louiseville in full heavy haul look with headache rack and revolving roof lights. Arnold Bros International 9300 brokers unit loaded with a John Deere combine.
This Arnold Bros. Hayes Clipper is owned by Tom Stewart from Ontario and he bought it in the early sixties where he was an owner operator at Arnold Bros. He ran it up to the late seventies at that time he parked the truck and bought a newer Freightliner and continued at ABT. In the nineties he started the slow process himself of meticulously restoring the Hayes. Right down to new cab skins and real Hayes mudflaps the restoration was beautiful and captured the look of the truck from the sixties. Tom is now retired and had his truck in the Arnold Bros. display at Fergus this year (2003).
