Wilt Warren included these pictures because they show an aspect of trucking all drivers accept as a risk every time we report to work. HE WOULD NOT have included any of these pictures if there had been any serious injuries ot deaths-everyone involved in both of these accidents walked away with minor cuts, scrapes, and bumps. The volkswagen driver wasn't injured in ANY way!!

These next photos are of an accident my Father-in Law, Curt had in the 1980's (I don't know the exact date). He was north-bound on I-29 between Fargo and Grand Forks, ND in a blizzard. A 20-something girl in a Volkswagen Sirocco tried to pass him, hit a snow-drift and slid under the truck (hood under the front trailer axle, trunk under the con-gear axle, con-gear tounge jack pierced car roof and kept car attached to truck for the rest of the ride). Both vehicles lost control and went into the ditch. As you can see the tractor and lead trailer spun to face south and the trailers rolled roof-to-roof.

These pictures are of the last truck Curt has ever driven. The accident occured on 10-01-98 and he was set to retire 10-31-98! He was hauling triples from Fargo, ND to Winnepeg, MB. about 15 miles from Winnepeg the pintle-ring on the first con-gear broke loose from the tounge, he lost control and hit the ditch. The entire unit was upright while rolling down the ditch-until the driver's side steer tire hit a drainage culvert, rolling the tractor and lead trailer.
