On September 2, 2002, Consolidated Freightways filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

This is the only time I have ever seen 2 CF rag top pups hooked up a doubles. Both Pines-built pups were shot at the York, PA terminal (by now, the breakbulk operation had shifted to the old Carolina terminal in Carlisle) in the mid-90's. John L. Becker Collection.

This was shot at the Oakmont Service Plaza, MM 50 eastbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The Arby's here was always a favorite stopping place for CF drivers. Paul Kane Collection.

Here is what some of the CF employees thought of the company back in the early 90's. We bought them a complete truck and trailer combo, CF-1. The pictures on the trailers were of employees and it certainly was a head turner since nobody ever saw a CF truck with polished budds all the way around. It was a working show truck and always kept spotless.
I took this picture right before I got on the Ohio Turnpike at Akron, Ohio going to the next relay at Peru, Ill. The unit was going on through to Sacramento, CA. Jerry Langfitt Collection.

Ironically, these are the last photos that Dave Faust snapped of CF trucks.
