I work in outside broadcast TV, and here are some pictures I have. TV trucks are very unique vehicles, costing from $600,000 for a satellite truck to $20,000,000 for a duel expando HDTV 53' production truck. A lot of them have names.
Kenworth T800 with short sleeper. NBC News satellite uplink vehicle. Based in FL, its named "Swampboy". It has a twin in CA called "Beachboy" with a surfing shark airbrushed on the side. Truck set up at 2004 South Carolina primary in Columbia SC. It was built by Frontline Communications in Clearwater FL. Swampboy packs a 20Kw diesel generator, engine PTO backup generator, 2.4 meter satellite dish, and 25 cell phone lines.
Kenworth T600 NMT Mobile Television 53" duel expando SD production truck, "DX10". July, 2001 rolling up to the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, PA.
My old truck, a nice 2001 Sterling Acterra uplink truck belonging to Sinclair Broadcast Group. Picture taken at a Baltimore Ravens football game in 2003 This truck comes from Wolfcoach in Auburn MA. It also has a 20Kw genset, 2.4 meter dish, and a smaller .8 meter dish for internet access.
