HIGHLAND TRANSPORT was started in 1967 as the full load division of Smith Transport. Smith was the eastern Canadian trucking subsidiary of the Canadian Pacific Railway.

Highland's colour scheme was white with blue lettering. Highland's operations expanded across Canada as part of the Canadian Pacific Express & Transport. Highland Intermodal hauled containers for CP Ships.Highland did the inter-city linehaul for the CANPAR parcel division. The Bulk Systems tank truck division operated from Highland's Markham Ontario yard in the 1980's.

When the Canadian Pacific Corp. decided to divest the trucking operations in the 1990's, Highland was sold to it's management. Today Highland Transport's white tractors haul freight across Canada and into the United States. The Container Division hauls between Ontario, Quebec and the USA eastern seaboard.

On August 27,2004; Transforce Corporation announced it would acquire Highland to be operated as an independant division.

I saw it in west end Toronto in January 2011.
If "a dirty truck is a working truck" this Kenworth leased to Highland must be a hard worker.
