I was notified that All American Toy Company was going to be making some flatbed trailers. So I searched through my web site for a company that used Kenworth trucks and also pulled flatbed trailers. I came up with Public Freightways. Public Freightways ran throughout British Columbia up until the 1970's when it was merged into Johnston Terminals in Vancouver. I always liked the paint scheme of Public Freightways, so I asked if Patrick could build me one like the pictures I sent him.
Public Freightways
Here is one of the pictures I used as prototype idea to show to Patrick Russell. Harry Black Collection. Custom decals made for this project
by Ken Goudy
Here is the door decals applied to the
Public Freightways Kenworth
The Public Freightways Kenworth is taking shape and really looking nice
Here the Public Freightways Kenworth is all completed. The decals on the trailer really finish off the toy truck nicely.

The next idea I passed by Patrick was, "What do you think of a tanker painted all black?" I don't think the idea was accepted right away, but once the project got going, it really became a hit. Here are some progress shots that Patrick Russell took as he was building the all-black Kenworth tanker.
The Kenworth tanker is all painted
and laid out for inspection
I was given the option of chromed wheels or painted. I had to see who either would look.
Well I chose painterd wheels.
Here is the almost completed all black tanker Now to come up with a company name and logo
No company name yet Here is my first idea Then another idea
Another angle to the black tanker Here is some of the artwork that I did for the tanker
The Kenworth tanker is now all assembled. Note the black grill. I asked for the grill to be painted with the chrome outline left.
Patrick when one step further an also left the middle bar chrome as well. A very nice effect.
Now the next decision to make. Do I want safety stripes on the bumper or not?
I decided on the bumper with stripes. I might even try to make up some stripes for the rear of the tank as well.
This is a really cool looking truck. Thanks for the work Patrick!!
Patrick sent me these pictures of my black tanker with black air horns.
I think I'll go for black horns.
I needed some safety stripes for the rear of the tanker truck and trailer and so after a bit of research and attempts to come up with examples, we came up with this.
Here is my black tanker all ready for some signage
