David Hull introduces us to Tom, who will be guiding us through the mill today.
The logs come up from the pond and then the bark is stripped off
The saw room. These band saw blades have to be sharpened every two hours.
It was really interesting to watch the saw blades come down at the cut the different dimensions of wood into different lengths.
Here is one of the two steam engines that runs the mill
The noise was pretty intense at times and we were all told to wear eye plugs
Sawdust gets fed into the fire pot with this shute


I had always wondered what the inside of a bee hive sawdust burner looked like. Now I know.

When the tour was over, everyone had gone for lunch. So we got to walk back through the area where the logs are cut into boards.
